About AvaOne
Built by Physicians. Designed for Your Future Self.
Three physicians. One Edison, NJ practice. An integrated approach to preventive cardiology, lifestyle medicine, and pain therapy that conventional medicine was never built to deliver.
A Different Kind of Wellness Practice
AvaOne Heart and Wellness was founded by three physicians who saw something missing in how preventive care is delivered. Most cardiology practices wait for the heart attack. Most wellness clinics lack the medical depth to address real disease risk. Most pain clinics treat symptoms without thinking about lifestyle. The three founders built AvaOne to bridge those gaps in one Edison, NJ practice, with one integrated care model, and one personalized plan per patient.
The practice was founded by Dr. Chirag D. Patel, a board-certified interventional cardiologist; Dr. Jaimy Patel, a Harvard-trained internal medicine physician and certified wellness coach; and Dr. Vanisha Patel, a New Jersey licensed physician with a Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching Certificate from Harvard Medical School. Together they deliver preventive medicine the way it was meant to be delivered: with time, depth, evidence, and a commitment to the long-term partnership that conventional, insurance-driven medicine cannot support.
AvaOne is a cash-pay practice. That decision is deliberate. Insurance-billed medicine compresses physician visits into seven minutes, restricts which tests can be ordered, and rewards reactive treatment of disease over prevention. By stepping outside that model, the AvaOne team can spend ninety minutes with new patients, order the advanced testing prevention actually requires, and build care plans that look at the whole person rather than a single billing code.
The practice is located in Edison, NJ, in a community with one of the most diverse populations in the United States and one of the largest Indian-American populations of any municipality in the country. That demographic context matters clinically. South Asian adults face significantly higher rates of premature cardiovascular disease than the broader US population. AvaOne was built in part to serve that community with the screening protocols and clinical depth that the underlying genetic and metabolic risk requires.
"We started AvaOne because we wanted to practice medicine the way we were trained to, with time, depth, and a commitment to the person in front of us. Not the way insurance compresses it."
– Dr. Chirag D. Patel, MD, FACC, FSCAI, RPVI Founding Cardiologist, AvaOne Heart and Wellness
Our Mission
To deliver physician-led preventive wellness that maps cardiovascular risk early, supports the body's natural recovery, and helps adults build lifestyles that sustain long-term health. Every AvaOne patient receives one integrated plan, not three fragmented referrals.
Our Vision
To become Central New Jersey's most trusted preventive wellness practice. The place where adults who are serious about their long-term health come for the integrated, physician-led care that conventional, insurance-driven medicine was never structured to provide.
What We Believe
1. Prevention is more powerful than treatment, and the right time to start prevention is years before symptoms appear.
2. Time with a physician is the most underrated tool in modern medicine, and we refuse to compress it.
3. Integrated care means one physician owning the whole picture, not three specialists treating three separate symptoms.
4. Cultural fluency improves clinical outcomes, particularly for patients whose cardiovascular and metabolic risk profiles do not match the general population.
5. Cash-pay transparency is not a luxury. It is what enables the depth of care our patients deserve.
Our Programs

Asked Questions
How AvaOne Works and What to Expect
AvaOne is built for adults who want a proactive, physician-led approach to long-term health rather than reactive treatment after disease appears. Patients typically come to us with one or more concerns including family history of heart disease or stroke, elevated cardiovascular risk, persistent musculoskeletal pain, difficulty managing weight or metabolic health, chronic stress, or a general desire for personalized longevity care. We are particularly
well-positioned to serve Central New Jersey’s Indian-American community given the documented elevated cardiovascular risk in South Asian populations.
We do not accept insurance because insurance-driven medicine compresses physician visits, restricts which tests can be ordered, and prioritizes billing codes over prevention. By operating outside that model, our physicians can spend ninety minutes with new patients, order the advanced cardiovascular and biomarker testing that preventive care actually requires, and build personalized plans that address the whole person. We accept HSA and FSA payments, and we coordinate insurance-billed external lab work and imaging separately when clinically appropriate.
Every new patient begins with a Future Self Assessment, a comprehensive ninety-minute physician evaluation with one of our three physicians. The assessment covers your medical history, family history, lifestyle factors, current concerns, and personal goals. At the end of the assessment, your physician will recommend which AvaOne program fits your situation. This may be the Vitality Program, the Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching Program, StemWave Therapy, or a combination. Most patients schedule their first assessment within seven business days of reaching out.
